Introduction:

The Association is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit charitable organization.  Its main aim is to establish facilities to provide standard, sustainable eye care services and education to disadvantaged or underprivileged communities living in rural areas of Pakistan free of charge.

Objectives:

The objectives of the Association are –

  1. To provide financial support for the prevention and control of blindness, corrective surgery for eye defects or diseases such as cataracts, medicine, patient care and community health education;
  2. To provide financial support for human resource development through training of doctors, nurses, paramedics and other health professionals;
  3.  To provide financial support for the establishment of facilities for research in ophthalmology;
  4. To undertake campaigns to collect used hospital equipment from hospitals and/or charitable organizations in Australia for donation to overseas organizations that provide free services in ophthalmology and other healthcare in Pakistan;
  5. To liaise with and establish partnerships with other local non-governmental organizations with similar aims and objectives;
  6. To assist disadvantaged or underprivileged students who are gifted to undertake tertiary or higher education by providing interest-free loans repayable when such students start paid work;
  7. To provide food, shelter, health, education and safety services for orphans, the destitute and the needy and to empower them to become self-sufficient;
  8. To provide disaster relief where necessary;
  9. To engage in fundraising activities in order to pursue the above aim and objectives.

Services:
